It is important to assess and review our lives continuously. How often do we fall into the monotony of our daily routines, without thinking about what we’re doing or why we’re doing it? Or how often does a major event or shift in our lives derail or distract
We need to think well and realize that the Christian faith is founded on fact. The object of our faith is key. Although the amount of our faith may change, but the object—the person and work of Christ—never will. As a result, Christianity is not a crutch—it’s the cure.
Teacher. Moral example. Good person. These are common modern descriptions of Jesus, but we need to ask, what did Jesus say about Himself? Although we may attempt to soften Jesus’ words or change His identity to be that of a mere teacher, if we take the New Testament seriously, we see that Jesus claimed to be God.
Having a claim to exclusivity does not automatically mean something is incorrect. But having a truth claim does not mean we toss tolerance out the window. Instead, we have tolerance despite difference with love, holding on to our views while respecting those of others.
Is Christ the only way to God? This bristling question has three potential answers: Christianity is not narrow; it is narrow and wrong; it is narrow and right.
If you are a Christian, you are a “living letter” (2 Corinthians 3:1–3). Your life demonstrates the truth of the gospel, demanding a response from all around you. At the end of the day, there can be no neutral response to Christ. We will either walk in the blindness of the world or in the light of the Holy Spirit.
Every Christian will come under spiritual attack at some point. Prepare now by meditating on God‘s truth, putting on the full armor of God.
How do you live as salt and light? You must lean into the wellspring of truth, looking to the example of Christ and the fullness of His life.
When fellow believers die, we can be moved with grief at our loss and with joy at their gain. Meditating on Scripture can help us cultivate this perspective in times of grief.
In Christ, we are new creatures. Even though we wrestle against the flesh, we can walk as victors because of His sacrifice.
