God wants us to depend on Him and His power through the circumstances of life. Material wealth and fame will not bring us satisfaction and hope. The only enduring hope we have is in the LORD.
We are called to live by the value system of the Word; this is a large part of what it means to walk by faith (2 Corinthians 5:7; cf. Romans 8:24–25).
Wisdom is the application of knowledge to achieve the best ends through the proper means. Because God is all good and has all knowledge and power, He can accomplish the best ends via the best means.
If you want to grow in Christlikeness by using your time wisely, monitor your “Word-to-world ratio.” If we are Christ’s disciples, we will want to gradually displace time in the world with time in the Word. In this way, we will be conformed to the image of Christ instead of the image of the world.
Suffering is a required course in the university of life, one that should lead to you a closer walk with God.
We need to make the most of the time. And we do so not by striving harder or filling our hours with empty work, but by surrendering to God and serving Him in His strength.

Communication is the main way in which we discern the will of God. It involves immersing ourselves in Scripture and coming before God in prayer. God will not guide us to do something contrary to Scripture. As we seek to discern His will, we must constantly be in prayer and examining our decisions in light of Scripture. If we think we hear God’s voice telling us to do something that is clearly contrary to Scripture (e.g., commit adultery), then it is not from God.
