365 Key Chapters of the Bible: Exodus 8

This entry is part 65 of 103 in the series 365 Key Chapters of the Bible

God brought forth three more plagues. The first plague was that of frogs that covered the land. Like the previous plagues, the magicians were able to mimic it. However, the magicians could not replicate the plague of gnats that followed. They even told Pharaoh that it was the “finger of God.” Nevertheless, Pharaoh hardened his heart and refused to release the children of Israel. Even when God distinguished between the people of Israel and of Egypt by sending flies only on the Egyptians, Pharaoh refused to let them go.
