Daily Encouragement Day 256 – Acts 22

When Paul was brought into the Roman barracks, he obtained permission from the commander to make his defense before the crowd.  Addressing the people in Jewish Aramaic, Paul related how he persecuted the followers of the Way as a zealous Pharisee until his encounter with the resurrected Jesus on the road to Damascus.  Ananias healed Paul’s blindness and told him that he would be a witness to all of what he had seen and heard.  But when Paul told the crowd about his divine commission to preach to the Gentiles, the people became furious and began shouting at him.  The commander ordered that Paul be returned to the barracks and examined by scourging, but changed his mind when Paul informed him of his Roman citizenship.

READING of ACTS 22

Prayer:

Lord, I am reminded that the gospel of the Lord Jesus has never been neutral, but cuts between those who seek You and those who turn away from You.  May I be faithful to live for Jesus and to speak well of Him regardless of how people respond.
