Daily Encouragement Day 49 – Deuteronomy 4

Moses exhorted the new generation in the plains of Moab to take heed to themselves, to remember the things they have seen, and to teach them to their children and grandchildren.  He also warned them against the insidious lure of idolatry and the human tendency to worship images of our own making rather than serve the invisible God.  Sadly, Moses also predicted that they would indeed succumb to idolatry and suffer the consequences of being scattered among the nations until they turn back to the Lord in their distress.
