Daily Prayer Day 116

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

As I approach Your throne of grace today, I am grateful that You care about the things that concern me and that You want me to offer them up to You.

Do not let my heart envy sinners,
But let me live only in the fear of the Lord.
For surely there is a future,
And my hope will not be cut off.  (Proverbs 23:17-18)

Take a moment to share your personal needs with God, including your physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

The Lord of hosts is wonderful in counsel and great in wisdom.  (Isaiah 28:29)

Jesus as our high priest meets our needs: He is holy, blameless, undefiled, set apart from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.  Unlike the other high priests, He does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for His own sins, and then for the sins of the people, for He did this once for all when he offered up Himself.  (Hebrews 7:26-27)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I am always of good courage and know that as long as I am at home in the body, I am away from the Lord.  For I live by faith, not by sight.  I am of good courage and would prefer to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.  (2 Corinthians 5:6-8)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

Since she is a companion and a wife by covenant, a husband should not deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.  The Lord God of hosts seeks a godly offspring and hates divorce; therefore we must take heed to our spirit and not deal treacherously.  (Malachi 2:14-16)

From the beginning of creation God made them male and female.  For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall cleave to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.  So they are no longer two, but one flesh.  Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.  (Matthew 19:4-6; Mark 10:6-9)

Lord, I thank You that You are wonderful in counsel and that Jesus my high priest is holy, blameless, and exalted above the heavens.  I ask that I would always be of good courage in Christ and that I would be faithful in my relationships with others.
