Daily Prayer Day 117

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.

All of us have become like one who is unclean,
And all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
We all shrivel up like a leaf,
And our iniquities, like the wind, sweep us away.
But now, O Lord, You are our Father.
We are the clay; You are the potter;
We are all the work of Your hand.  (Isaiah 64:6, 8)

Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

I will give thanks to the God of heaven, for His merciful love endures forever.  (Psalm 136:26)

By the will of God, I have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.  And every priest stands daily ministering and offering again and again the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.  But when this Priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time for His enemies to be made a footstool for His feet.  For by one offering, He has made perfect forever those who are being sanctified.  (Hebrews 10:10-14)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

In Christ Jesus my Lord, I have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.  (Ephesians 3:12)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

The fear of the Lord is the instruction for wisdom, and humility comes before honor.  (Proverbs 15:33)

I will not let any corrupt word come out of my mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may impart grace to those who hear.  (Ephesians 4:29)

Lord, I thank You for Your merciful love and for sanctifying me through the perfect offering of Jesus Christ.  I thank You that I have boldness and confident access through faith in Christ Jesus, and I ask that my words would be characterized by humility and grace.
