Daily Prayer Day 135

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of your forgiveness.  I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

I will not forget the exhortation that addresses me as a son:
"My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline,
Nor lose heart when you are rebuked by Him,
For whom the Lord loves He disciplines,
And He chastises every son whom He receives."  (Hebrews 12:5-6)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin.  Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

The Lord brings death and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and raises up.  The Lord sends poverty and wealth; He humbles and He exalts.  He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap, to seat them with princes and make them inherit a throne of honor.  For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s, and He has set the world upon them.  (1 Samuel 2:6-8)

When Judas went out to betray Him, Jesus said, "Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in Him.  If God is glorified in Him, God will glorify the Son in Himself and will glorify Him immediately."  (John 13:31-32)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I do not lose heart; even though my outward man is perishing, yet my inner man is being renewed day by day.  For this light affliction which is momentary is working for me a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while I do not look at the things which are seen but at the things which are unseen.  For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are unseen are eternal.  (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.  For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.  But I will flee from these things, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.  (1 Timothy 6:9-11)

This is Your commandment, that we love one another, as You have loved us.  (John 15:12)

Lord, I thank You for Your perfect justice and for Your Son’s willingness to glorify You through His death and resurrection.  I thank You that You are daily renewing me within, and I ask that I would not succumb to greed, but be drawn by love.
