Daily Prayer Day 155

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, I give thanks for Your greatness, your goodness, and your love, and I now draw near to enjoy your presence.

How great are Your works, O Lord!
Your thoughts are very deep.
The senseless man does not know;
Fools do not understand
That when the wicked spring up like grass
And all the evildoers flourish,
They will be destroyed forever.
But You, O Lord, are exalted forever.  (Psalm 92:5-7)

You are the Lord, that is Your name.
You will not give Your glory to another,
Or Your praise to idols.  (Isaiah 42:8)

Take a moment to consider God’s awesome majesty and thank Him that He loves you and wants an intimate relationship with you.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

I know that You can do all things and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.  (Job 42:2)

While Jesus was in the world, He was the light of the world.  For judgment He came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may become blind.  (John 9:5, 39)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I was not redeemed with perishable things such as silver or gold from the aimless way of life handed down to me from my forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish or defect.  (1 Peter 1:18-19)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will not defraud my neighbor or rob him.  (Leviticus 19:13)

I will do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility I will esteem others as more important than myself.  I will look not only to my own interests, but also to the interests of others.  (Philippians 2:3-4)

Lord, I thank You that Your purposes will be established and that Jesus came to be the light of the world.  I thank You for redeeming me with the precious blood of Christ, and I ask that I would not be selfishly ambitious, but consider the interests of others.
