Daily Scripture Prayers of Petition: Part 1

May I follow Abraham’s example of willingness to offer all that I have to You, holding nothing back and trusting in Your character and in Your promises.  (Genesis 22:2-12, 16)

By God’s grace, may I not despise my birthright for the things of this world.  (Genesis 25:33-34)

May it be unto me as you said to Jacob, "Behold, I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go; I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you."  (Genesis 28:15)

Joseph said to his brothers, "Do not be grieved or angry with yourselves for selling me here, for God sent me before you to save lives.  He sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.  So it was not you who sent me here, but God."  (Genesis 45:5, 7-8)

May I be a person who fears God, loves truth, and hates dishonest gain.  (Exodus 18:21)

Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid.  God has come to test you, so that His fear may be with you, so that you may not sin."  (Exodus 20:20)

May I not revile God or curse the ruler of my people.  (Exodus 22:28)

May I not spread false reports, nor help a wicked man by being a malicious witness.  (Exodus 23:1)

May I not follow the crowd in doing wrong.  (Exodus 23:2)

May I not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds those who see and perverts the words of the righteous.  (Exodus 23:8)
