Daily Prayer: Day 103

From Simple Prayers, Day 103

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.

Blessed are those whose strength is in You,
Who have set their hearts on pilgrimage. (Psalm 84:5)

O Lord, be gracious to us; we have hoped in You.
Be our strength every morning,
Our salvation in time of distress. (Isaiah 33:2)

Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

God alone stretches out the heavens and treads on the waves of the sea. (Job 9:8)

Your hand laid the foundations of the earth, and Your right hand spread out the heavens; when You summon them, they all stand up together. (Isaiah 48:13)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in my heart to give me the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But I have this treasure in an earthen vessel to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from me. (2 Corinthians 4:6–7)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

The wisdom that comes from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, submissive, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. (James 3:17–18)

I will examine all things, hold fast to the good, and abstain from every form of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:21–22)

Lord, I thank You for Your magnificent work in creation and for making the light of the knowledge of Christ shine in my heart. I ask that I would practice the wisdom that comes from above and that I would cling to the good and avoid every form of evil.
