Daily Prayer: Day 104

From Simple Prayers, Day 104

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.

I will both lie down in peace and sleep,
For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. (Psalm 4:8)

I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;
My body also will rest in hope.
You will make known to me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand are pleasures forever. (Psalm 16:8–9, 11)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. (Psalm 45:6)

Heaven is Your throne, and the earth is Your footstool. Your hand made all these things, and so they came into being. (Isaiah 66:1–2a)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I am God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand for me to do. (Ephesians 2:10)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will love my enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in return. Then my reward will be great, and I will be a child of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and evil. I will be merciful just as my Father is merciful. (Luke 6:35–36)

I will bear with others and forgive whatever complaints I have against them; I will forgive just as the Lord forgave me. (Colossians 3:13)

Lord, I thank You for Your righteous and glorious throne and for creating me in Christ Jesus for good works. I ask that I would be merciful and love those who do not love me and that I would demonstrate forbearance and forgiveness.
