Daily Prayer: Day 69

From Simple Prayers, Day 69

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.

I will call upon You and come and pray to You, and You will listen to me. I will seek You and find You when I search for You with all my heart. (Jeremiah 29:12–13)

Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it—the Lord is His name: “Call to Me, and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:2–3)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

I acknowledge this day and take it to my heart that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other. (Deuteronomy 4:39)

Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a Man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ, the firstfruits; afterward, those who are Christ’s at His coming. Then the end will come, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. (1 Corinthians 15:20–26)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

In Christ I have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who have trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. (Ephesians 1:11–12)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will fight the good fight of faith and lay hold of the eternal life to which I was called when I made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. In the sight of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate, I want to keep this command without blemish or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in His own time. (1 Timothy 6:12–15a)

I will not return evil for evil or insult for insult, but blessing instead, because to this I was called, that I may inherit a blessing. (1 Peter 3:9)

Lord, I thank You that You alone are God and that the resurrected Christ is the firstfruits of those who will be raised from the dead. I thank You for the inheritance You have given to me, and I ask that I would remain faithful in the good fight of faith.
