Daily Prayer: Day 83

From Simple Prayers, Day 83

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.

Who is like You, O Lord?
Who is like You—majestic in holiness,
Awesome in praises, working wonders? (Exodus 15:11)

I acknowledge this day and take it to my heart that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other. (Deuteronomy 4:39)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Once God has spoken; twice I have heard this: that power belongs to God, and that You, O Lord, are loving. For You reward each person according to what he has done. (Psalm 62:11–12)

How shall we escape if we ignore God’s great salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed by those who heard Him. God also bore witness to it by signs and wonders and various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will. (Hebrews 2:3–4)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

You will instruct me and teach me in the way I should go; You will counsel me and watch over me. (Psalm 32:8)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement grant us to be of the same mind toward one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord and one mouth we may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 15:5–6)

There should be no division in the body, but its members should have the same concern for each other. If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. Now we are the body of Christ, and each one of us is a member of it. (1 Corinthians 12:25–27)

Lord, I thank You for Your wondrous power and for the greatness of Your salvation in Jesus. I thank You for instructing and teaching me in the way I should go, and I ask that I would be concerned for the welfare and unity of the body of Christ.
