Daily Prayer: Day 87

From Simple Prayers

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I praise You, Lord, that You are intimately acquainted with my ways and that You always love me and have my best interests at heart.

May I listen carefully to the voice of the Lord my God and do what is right in Your sight; may I pay attention to Your commandments and keep all Your statutes. (Exodus 15:26)

May I rejoice in my tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into my heart through the Holy Spirit who was given to me. (Romans 5:3–5)

Take a moment to offer this day to the Lord and ask Him for the grace to grow in your knowledge and love for Him.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Jesus is in the Father, and the Father is in Him. He spoke the words of His Father and did the works of His Father who dwells in Him. He claimed to be in the Father and the Father in Him and proved it through His works. (John 14:10–11)

Men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And He will send His angels and gather His elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens. We must take heed and be watchful, for we do not know when that time will come. (Mark 13:26–27, 33)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

No temptation has overtaken me except what is common to man. And God is faithful, who will not let me be tempted beyond what I am able, but with the temptation will also provide a way out, so that I may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I do not want to love praise from men more than praise from God. (John 12:43)

Whatever I do, I should do all to the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)

Lord, I thank You that Jesus so clearly manifested Your perfection and that He will come again in power and glory. I thank You for Your provision in times of temptation, and I ask for the grace to seek Your praise rather than that of people.
