From Handbook to Scripture, Day 286
READING: 2 CORINTHIANS 5
This important chapter reveals important truths concerning the resurrection and judgment of believers (5:1–10), and the meaning and ministry of reconciliation (5:11–21). Although “there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1), believers will still appear before the judgment seat of Christ to be rewarded according to their works. It is wise to remember the brevity of our temporal sojourn so that we will invest our earthly time wisely before we are at home with the Lord. We have been called to a ministry of reconciliation in our spheres of influence as ambassadors for Christ, and when we leave this planet, we will never again have the opportunity of sharing the gospel or serving the needy.
Prayer: Lord, You made Jesus who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Meditation passage: verses 6–10, 14–17, 21
