Daily Scripture: Year 2, Day 192

From Handbook to Renewal

Focus: The Works of God––Consummation

To us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on the throne of David and over His kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this. (Isaiah 9:6–7)

The wolf will dwell with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the goat, and the calf and the lion and the yearling together, and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear; their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the hole of the cobra, and the young child will put his hand into the viper’s hole. They will neither harm nor destroy on all My holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. (Isaiah 11:6–9)

You will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their iniquity. You will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless. (Isaiah 13:11)

The Lord of hosts has planned it, to bring low the pride of all glory and to humble all who are renowned on the earth. (Isaiah 23:9)

The Lord God will swallow up death forever, and He will wipe away the tears from all faces; He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth. For the Lord has spoken. And it will be said in that day, “Behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the Lord, we have trusted in Him; let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.” (Isaiah 25:8–9)
