Daily Scripture: Year 2, Day 28

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

I will exalt You, my God and King; I will bless Your name for ever and ever. Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name for ever and ever. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness is unsearchable. (Psalm 145:13)

Every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea and all that is in them, will sing: “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and power for ever and ever!” (Revelation 5:13)

The Works of God

We know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for our sakes He became poor, that we through His poverty might become rich. (2 Corinthians 8:9)

There is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given in its proper time. (1 Timothy 2:56)

My Relationship to God

Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. (Job 1:21)

If anyone wishes to come after You, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow You. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Your sake and the gospel’s will find it. For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:2426; Mark 8:3437; Luke 9:2325)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

He who loves money will not be satisfied with money; nor he who loves abundance, with its increase. (Ecclesiastes 5:10)

Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows. But I will flee from these things, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness. (1 Timothy 6:911)

My Relationship to Others

The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, I will pray that the Lord of the harvest will send out workers into His harvest. (Matthew 9:3738; Luke 10:2)

Do you not say, “Four months more and then comes the harvest”? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are white for harvest. Even now the reaper draws his wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. (John 4:3536)
