Daily Scripture: Year 2, Day 52

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

Your merciful love is higher than the heavens, and Your truth reaches to the skies. (Psalm 108:4)

I will give thanks to the God of heaven, for His merciful love endures forever. (Psalm 136:26)

The Works of God

Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was well-pleasing in Your sight. All things have been delivered to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.” (Matthew 11:2527; Luke 10:2122)

Jesus preached the gospel of the kingdom of God, and said, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe the good news.” (Mark 1:1415)

My Relationship to God

I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and by believing, I have life in His name. (John 20:31)

If I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved. For it is with my heart that I believe unto righteousness, and it is with my mouth that I confess unto salvation. As the Scripture says, “Whoever trusts in Him will not be put to shame.” (Romans 10:911)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. (1 Corinthians 10:12)

I do not dare to classify or compare myself with other people, for it is unwise to measure or compare myself with others. I will not boast beyond proper limits but within the sphere of the gospel of Christ. “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends. (2 Corinthians 10:1214, 1718)

My Relationship to Others

I will remind others to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, to slander no one, to be peaceable and gentle, and to show true humility toward all men. (Titus 3:12)

Young men should be submissive to those who are older, and all of us should clothe ourselves with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (1 Peter 5:5)
