The Attributes of God

Ah, Lord God! You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for You. You are the great and mighty God, whose name is the Lord of hosts. You are great in counsel and mighty in deed, and Your eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men; You reward everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds. (Jeremiah 32:17–19)

The word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow, and it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:1213)

The Works of God

By the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. (2 Peter 3:5–7)

You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being. (Revelation 4:11)

My Relationship to God

From everyone who has been given much, much will be required, and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked. (Luke 12:48)

As a servant of Christ and a steward of His possessions, it is required that I be found faithful. (1 Corinthians 4:12)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

I will covet no one’s money or possessions. (Acts 20:33)

Godliness with contentment is great gain. For I brought nothing into the world, and I can take nothing out of it. But if I have food and clothing, with these I will be content. (1 Timothy 6:68)

My Relationship to Others

I will remember those who led me, who spoke the word of God to me. I will consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. (Hebrews 13:7)

I will obey those who lead me and submit to them, for they keep watch over my soul as those who must give an account. I will obey them, so that they may do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for me. (Hebrews 13:17)
