Daily Scripture: Year 2, Day 55

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

The Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to whomever He wishes and sets over them the lowliest of men. I will bless the Most High and praise and honor Him who lives forever. His dominion is an eternal dominion, and His kingdom endures from generation to generation. He regards all the inhabitants of the earth as nothing, and does as He pleases with the host of heaven and the inhabitants of the earth. No one can hold back His hand or say to Him: “What have You done?” I praise, exalt, and honor the King of heaven, for all His works are true, and all His ways are just, and He is able to humble those who walk in pride. (Daniel 4:17, 3435, 37)

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to the Son of God. (Matthew 28:18)

The Works of God

He who comes from above is above all; he who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all. He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for He gives the Spirit without limit. (John 3:31, 34)

The Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. (John 5:2223)

My Relationship to God

The grace of my Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 1:14)

God has saved me and called me with a holy calling, not according to my works but according to His own purpose and grace. (2 Timothy 1:9)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

I will consider it all joy whenever I fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of my faith produces endurance. And I will let endurance finish its work, so that I may be mature and complete, lacking in nothing. (James 1:24)

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him. (James 1:12)

My Relationship to Others

Each of us must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are members of one another. (Ephesians 4:25)

We ought always to thank God for other believers and pray that their faith would grow more and more, and that the love each of them has toward one another would increase. (2 Thessalonians 1:3)
