Daily Scripture: Year 2, Day 57

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

You declare the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that have not yet been done, saying, “My purpose will stand, and I will do all My pleasure.” (Isaiah 46:10)

The word that goes forth from Your mouth will not return to You empty but will accomplish what You desire and achieve the purpose for which You sent it. (Isaiah 55:11)

The Works of God

The law was added that the transgression might increase. But where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 5:2021)

Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. (Romans 10:4)

My Relationship to God

The love of Christ compels me, because I am convinced that One died for all, and therefore all died. And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again. (2 Corinthians 5:1415)

When the kindness and love of God my Savior appeared, He saved me, not by works of righteousness which I have done, but according to His mercy. He saved me through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit whom He poured out on me abundantly through Jesus Christ my Savior, so that having been justified by His grace, I might become an heir according to the hope of eternal life. (Titus 3:47)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. (Proverbs 14:12)

I will examine all things, hold fast to the good, and abstain from every form of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:2122)

My Relationship to Others

I will be hospitable to others without grumbling. (1 Peter 4:9)

As each of us has received a gift, we should use it to serve others, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. (1 Peter 4:10)
