Jesus’ hour was at hand. This would be the last night before His crucifixion. As Jesus walked through the Garden of Gethsemane with His disciples, He took his three closest disciples—Peter, James, and John—and went farther into the garden. “My soul is deeply grieved, to the point of death; remain here and keep watch with Me,” Jesus told them (Matthew 26:38). The weight of the whole world was on His shoulders. Luke 22:44 reveals that His anguish was so great that “His sweat became like drops of blood.” But although His accusers were coming to take Him away, the Lamb of God would take away the sin of the world.
