The Creator and Sustainer of the universe does not learn. He does not know things discursively or successively, one after another, because He is eternal. There is no before or after for God. He just is. He knows all things together at once. It is remarkable indeed to consider that God knows all things. In His Eternal Now past, present, future, all possibilities and all realities are laid before Him. This should cause us to marvel and wonder.
For us, understanding that God knows the beginning from the end, knowing that His ways are higher than ours, should comfort us. He knows what He will bring about, and because He knows, His promises to us are guaranteed. Furthermore, because God is also omnipotent, we can be sure that God has the power to do what He says He will do.
So let us marvel and be astounded at the grandeur of our God—the God who tells us:
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts.”
