God’s omniscience means He knows all things. His omnipotence means He can do all that can be done. Considering God has all knowledge, and all power, and is all good, it follows that He has all wisdom. Wisdom is knowledge applied—it is choosing the right means for the desired ends. Given God’s omniscience, omnipotence, and goodness, God has the unerring ability to bring about the best ends through the best means according to His perfect will. We can exclaim with Paul, “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!” (Romans 11:33).
So what does this mean for us? We are children of the God who made all wisdom. Rather than wringing our hands in despair and viewing God through the lens of our circumstances, we need to look at our circumstances through the lens of God, the fount of wisdom. This does not mean we will always understand our circumstances. But we can entrust our circumstances and future to the One who holds all things in His hands. We do this by walking in His wisdom, clinging to His Word, and resting in His promises.
