Daily Encouragement Day 17 – Genesis 37

It was painfully obvious that Joseph was his father Jacob’s favorite son.  When Joseph (perhaps unwisely) shared his dreams with his brothers, they hated him even more, because it appeared that he had ambitions of ruling over them.  When the brothers saw an opportunity to get rid of Joseph, their jealousy prompted them to sell him into slavery in Egypt, presumably never to be seen again.  The conspirators lied to their father Jacob and claimed that Joseph had been killed by a wild beast.  At first glance, it would appear that Joseph’s dreams could never be fulfilled.
