Daily Encouragement Day 333 – Hebrews 11

Because of the manifold superiority of Christ Jesus, the author of this epistle calls his readers to conduct themselves in obedience to Jesus and to persevere in their sufferings for His sake (10:19-39).  Like the obedient men and women of the Old Testament, their faith must be in God’s character and their hope must be in His promised heavenly rewards (11:1-40).

Since “faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen,” we must acknowledge with the men and women who are listed in this chapter that we will not receive the fulfillment of God’s promises in this life, but that we await “a better country, that is, a heavenly one.”

READING of HEBREWS 11

Prayer:

Lord, it is by faith that I understand that the worlds were prepared by Your word, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.  And without faith it is impossible to please You, for whoever comes to You must believe that You are and that You are a rewarder of those who seek You.
