Daily Prayer Day 129

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I praise You, Lord, that You are intimately acquainted with my ways and that You always love me and have my best interests at heart.

I am the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its flavor, how can it be made salty again?  It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.  I am the light of the world.  A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.  In the same way, I must let my light shine before men, that they may see my good deeds and praise my Father in heaven.  (Matthew 5:13-16)

I want to walk in a way that is worthy of the calling with which I was called, with all humility and meekness and patience.  (Ephesians 4:1-2)

Take a moment to offer this day to the Lord and ask Him for the grace to grow in your knowledge and love for Him.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

You know me, O Lord; You see me and test my thoughts about You.  (Jeremiah 12:3)

If anyone is ashamed of You and Your words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.  (Mark 8:38)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

My soul waits in hope for the Lord; He is my help and my shield.  My heart rejoices in Him, because I trust in His holy name.  (Psalm 33:20-21)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.  (Proverbs 18:15)

He who heeds the word prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.  (Proverbs 16:20)

Lord, I thank You that You know me and I pray that I would never be ashamed of my relationship with Jesus Christ.  I thank You for being my help and my shield, and I ask that I would be prudent enough to acquire knowledge and to heed Your words.
