Daily Prayer Day 168

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

O Lord, I am deeply grateful for Your wonderful acts, for Your abundant promises, and for the gift of my relationship with You through the merits of Christ.

We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks,
For Your name is near;
Men tell of Your wonderful works.  (Psalm 75:1)

Lovingkindness and truth have met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
Truth shall spring forth from the earth,
And righteousness looks down from heaven.  (Psalm 85:10-11)

Take a moment to express your gratitude for the many blessings that you have received from the Lord.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

O Lord of hosts, You judge righteously and test the heart and mind; to You I have committed my cause.  (Jeremiah 11:20)

The Lord of hosts has planned it, to bring low the pride of all glory and to humble all who are renowned on the earth.  (Isaiah 23:9)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I do not want to be like those who draw near to You with their mouths and honor You with their lips, but whose hearts are far from You, and whose reverence for You is made up only of rules taught by men.  (Isaiah 29:13)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

Physical exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for both the present life and the life to come.  (1 Timothy 4:8)

I will flee youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.  (2 Timothy 2:22)

Lord, I thank You for Your righteous judgments and for Your plan to humble the proud.  I pray that I would draw near to You in my heart and not merely my actions, and I ask that I would pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace.
