Daily Prayer Day 194

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.  And if I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.  And if I give all my possessions to the poor, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.  (1 Corinthians 13:1-3)

Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Good and upright is the Lord; therefore He instructs sinners in His ways.  (Psalm 25:8)

Jesus said to the scribes and Pharisees, "It is not the healthy who need a physician, but the sick.  I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."  (Mark 2:17)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile.  For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."  (Romans 1:16-17)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will not go about spreading slander among people, nor will I do anything that endangers the life of my neighbor.  (Leviticus 19:16)

He who speaks truth reveals what is right; but a false witness, deceit.  (Proverbs 12:17)

Lord, I thank You for instructing sinners in Your ways and for Christ’s loving ministry to sinners.  I thank You for the power of the gospel of faith in Your Son, and I ask that I would be truthful in all my words.
