Daily Prayer Day 201

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.

All things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: namely, that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting their trespasses against them.  And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation.  Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were appealing through us, as we implore others on Christ’s behalf to be reconciled to God.  (2 Corinthians 5:18-20)

Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand.  (John 3:35)

Jesus told Nathanael, "I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."  (John 1:51)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Whoever receives a little child in Your name receives You, and whoever receives You receives Him who sent You.  For he who is least among us all is the one who is great.   (Luke 9:48)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

When pride comes, then comes dishonor, but with humility comes wisdom.  (Proverbs 11:2)

The tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts.  Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.  The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil that is set among the parts of the body, that corrupts the whole body, and sets the whole course of our life on fire and is set on fire by hell.  (James 3:5-6)

Lord, I thank You that You have given all things into Your Son’s hand and that He has become the ladder to heaven.  I thank You that I have received Christ, and I ask that You would guard me from pride and boasting.
