Daily Prayer Day 229

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.

With all prayer and petition, we should pray always in the Spirit, and to this end we should be watchful with all perseverance and petition for all the saints.  (Ephesians 6:18)

I pray that words may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel.  (Ephesians 6:19)

Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

My flesh trembles for fear of You; I stand in awe of Your judgments.  (Psalm 119:120)

You form the light and create darkness; You bring prosperity and create disaster; You, the Lord, do all these things.  (Isaiah 45:7)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I am no longer a stranger and alien, but a fellow citizen with God’s people and a member of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone.  (Ephesians 2:19-20)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will obey those who are in authority over me with fear and trembling and with sincerity of heart, as to Christ; not with external service as a pleaser of men, but as a slave of Christ, doing the will of God from my heart.  With good will I will serve as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that I will receive back from the Lord whatever good I do.  (Ephesians 6:5-8)

I will avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they produce quarrels.  The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle toward all, able to teach, and patient.  (2 Timothy 2:23-24)

Lord, I thank You for Your awesome judgments and for Your sovereign authority over all things.  I thank You that You have made me a member of Your household, and I ask that I would render service to others in Your name and avoid quarrels.
