Daily Prayer Day 248

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I praise You, Lord, that You are intimately acquainted with my ways and that You always love me and have my best interests at heart.

May I apply my heart to instruction
And my ears to words of knowledge.  (Proverbs 23:12)

May I watch and pray so that I will not fall into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.  (Matthew 26:41)

Take a moment to offer this day to the Lord and ask Him for the grace to grow in your knowledge and love for Him.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

There is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom I live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom I live.  (1 Corinthians 8:6)

The Lord told the apostles, "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."  (Acts 1:8)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I am not competent in myself to claim anything for myself, but my competence comes from God.  He has made me competent as a minister of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.  (2 Corinthians 3:5-6)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.  The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth of the fool pours out folly.  (Proverbs 15:1-2)

Since I have God’s promises, I will cleanse myself from all pollution of body and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.  (2 Corinthians 7:1)

Lord, I thank You that all things come from You and through You and that You have empowered me through Your indwelling Spirit.  I thank You for making me competent to minister, and I ask that I would avoid harsh words and seek Your holiness.
