Daily Prayer Day 253

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, I give thanks for Your greatness, your goodness, and your love, and I now draw near to enjoy your presence.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  (John 1:1-2)

There is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom I live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom I live.  (1 Corinthians 8:6)

Take a moment to consider God’s awesome majesty and thank Him that He loves you and wants an intimate relationship with you.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Bless the Lord, O my soul.  O Lord, my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty.  (Psalm 104:1)

The heavens are Yours; the earth also is Yours; You founded the world and all its fullness.  (Psalm 89:11)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

With regard to my former way of life, I am to put off my old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires, and be renewed in the spirit of my mind; and I am to put on the new self, which was created according to God in righteousness and true holiness.  (Ephesians 4:22-24)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.  And if I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.  And if I give all my possessions to the poor, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.  (1 Corinthians 13:1-3)

I will sow righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up my fallow ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until He comes and rains righteousness on me.  (Hosea 10:12)

Lord, I thank You that You are clothed with splendor and majesty and that You are sovereign over all things.  I pray that I would live consistently with my new identity in Christ, and I ask that I would display His love and righteousness.
