Daily Prayer Day 47

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.

My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my hope comes from Him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation;
He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
In God is my salvation and my glory;
My rock of strength, my refuge is in God.
Trust in Him at all times, O people;
Pour out your heart before Him;
God is our refuge.  (Psalm 62:5-8)

Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord, or instructed Him as His counselor?  Whom did the Lord consult to enlighten Him, and who taught Him the path of justice?  Who taught Him knowledge or showed Him the way of understanding?  Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket and are regarded as dust on the scales; He weighs the islands as though they were fine dust.  Before Him all the nations are as nothing; they are regarded by Him as less than nothing and worthless.  To whom, then, will I compare God?  Or what likeness will I compare with Him?  (Isaiah 40:13-15, 17-18)

The light has come into the world, but men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.  For everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.  But whoever practices the truth comes into the light, so that his deeds may be clearly seen as having been done through God.  (John 3:19-21)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

May God fill me with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that I may walk worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power according to His glorious might, so that I may have great endurance and patience with joy.  (Colossians 1:9-11)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

The brother in humble circumstances should glory in his high position, and the one who is rich should glory in his humiliation, because he will pass away like a flower of the field.  (James 1:9-10)

Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred.  (Proverbs 15:17)

Lord, I thank You for Your unrivaled splendor and for calling me to be a child of the light.  I thank You for the power of Christ in me, and I ask that I would walk in humility and love.
