Daily Scripture Prayers of Thanksgiving, Part 23

The Lord has performed mighty deeds with His arm; He has scattered those who are proud in the thoughts of their heart. He has brought down rulers from their thrones And has lifted up the humble. (Luke 1:51-52)

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, Because He has visited us and has redeemed His people. He has raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of His servant David (As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets of long ago), Salvation from our enemies And from the hand of all who hate us— To show mercy to our fathers And to remember His holy covenant, The oath He swore to our father Abraham, To rescue us from the hand of our enemies, And to enable us to serve Him without fear In holiness and righteousness before Him all our days. (Luke 1:68-75)

The angel said to the shepherds, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a Savior has been born to you, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:10-11)

Jesus fulfilled the words of the prophet Isaiah: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are downtrodden, To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:18-19)
