GRASP THAT ALL THINGS
COME FROM GOD
This is the one You esteem:
he who is humble and contrite of spirit,
and who trembles at Your word.
(Isaiah 66:2b)
Who makes me different from anyone else?
And what do I have that I did not receive?
And if I did receive it,
why I should I boast as though I had not received it?
(1 Corinthians 4:7)
Lord, grant me the wisdom to tremble at Your word in a spirit of contrition and humility. May I grow in the true realization that everything I have in this world—my abilities, my possessions, my accomplishments, my position, my time—all of these come directly from Your hand. May I be wise enough to live in the understanding that all of life is a gift from You. Amen.
