SEEK THE LORD’S COMMENDATION

Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.
(1 Corinthians 10:12)

I do not dare to classify or compare myself with other
people, for it is unwise to measure or compare myself with others.
I will not boast beyond proper limits
but within the sphere of the gospel of Christ.
“Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”
For it is not the one who commends himself who is
approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
(2 Corinthians 10:12–14, 17–18)

Lord, may I boast only in You and not in anything I have or have done. My identity is based on being, not in having and doing, and my new being is that of a child of God. I will boast in the sphere of the gospel of Christ and in the truth that in Him, condemnation before You has been replaced by commendation. Amen.
