Daily Encouragement: Year 1, Day 74

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the heavens, You who have done great things. O God, who is like You? (Psalm 71:19)

You, the Lord, alone have declared what is to come from the distant past. There is no God apart from You, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none besides You. You are God, and there is no other. (Isaiah 45:21–22)

The Works of God

Everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible. For this reason it says, “Awake, you who sleep; arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” (Ephesians 5:13–14)

The day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the elements will be destroyed by intense heat, and the earth and its works will be laid bare. The day of God will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt with intense heat. (2 Peter 3:10, 12)

My Relationship to God

Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:9–10)

Though I have not seen Jesus, I love Him; and though I do not see Him now but believe in Him, I rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, for I am receiving the end of my faith, the salvation of my soul. (1 Peter 1:8–9)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

Wisdom is foremost; therefore I will get wisdom, and though it costs all I have, I will get understanding. I will esteem her, and she will exalt me; I will embrace her, and she will honor me. (Proverbs 4:7–8)

Blessed is the man who listens to wisdom, watching daily at her gates, waiting at her doorposts. For whoever finds wisdom finds life and obtains favor from the Lord. But he who sins against her injures his own soul; all who hate her love death. (Proverbs 8:34–36)

My Relationship to Others

You have given us a new commandment to love one another even as You have loved us; so we must love one another. By this all men will know that we are Your disciples, if we have love for one another. (John 13:34)

This is Your commandment, that we love one another, as You have loved us. (John 15:12)
