Daily Encouragement: Year 1, Day 76

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul. The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart. The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever. The judgments of the Lord are true and altogether righteous. They are more desirable than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. Moreover, by them is Your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. (Psalm 19:7–11)

The sum of Your words is truth, and all of Your righteous judgments are eternal. (Psalm 119:160)

The Works of God

The Lord, He is God. It is He who made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture. (Psalm 100:3)

God has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

My Relationship to God

It is because of God that I am in Christ Jesus, who has become for me wisdom from God and righteousness and sanctification and redemption. (1 Corinthians 1:30)

God raised me up with Christ and seated me with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward me in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:6–7)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. (Proverbs 12:18)

Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him. (Proverbs 29:20)

My Relationship to Others

I will do no injustice in judgment, nor show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but I will judge my neighbor fairly. (Leviticus 19:15)

In my faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, I will not show partiality to some people above others. (James 2:1)
