Daily Encouragement: Year 1, Day 78

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

I know that You can do all things and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted. (Job 42:2)

From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised. The Lord is high above all nations, His glory above the heavens. Who is like the Lord our God, the One who is enthroned on high, who humbles Himself to behold the things that are in the heavens and in the earth? (Psalm 113:3–6)

The Works of God

In the resurrection of the dead, the body that is sown is perishable, but it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, but it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, but it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, but it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. (1 Corinthians 15:42–44)

The first man is of the dust of the earth; the second Man is from heaven. As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the Man from heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the likeness of the heavenly Man. (1 Corinthians 15:47–49)

My Relationship to God

He who does not take his cross and follow after You is not worthy of You. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for Your sake will find it. (Matthew 10:38–39)

Whoever wishes to become great among others must become their servant, and whoever wishes to be first among them must be their slave. (Matthew 20:26–27; Mark 10:43–44)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

Your commandment is a lamp; Your teaching is a light, and Your reproofs of discipline are the way to life. (Proverbs 6:23)

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16–17)

My Relationship to Others

I will train up each child according to his way; even when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

Correct your son, and he will give you rest; he will bring delight to your soul. (Proverbs 29:17)
