Daily Encouragement: Year 1, Day 82

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

Once God has spoken; twice I have heard this: that power belongs to God, and that You, O Lord, are loving. For You reward each person according to what he has done. (Psalm 62:11–12)

The Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; it is He who will save us. (Isaiah 33:22)

The Works of God

The Holy City, new Jerusalem, will come down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. A loud voice from the throne will say, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God, and He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the first things have passed away.” He who is seated on the throne will say, “Behold, I make all things new.” (Revelation 21:2–5)

The Lord Jesus is coming quickly. His reward is with Him, and He will give to everyone according to what he has done. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Yes, He is coming quickly. Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. (Revelation 22:12–13, 20)

My Relationship to God

No temptation has overtaken me except what is common to man. And God is faithful, who will not let me be tempted beyond what I am able, but with the temptation will also provide a way out, so that I may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

The Lord is faithful, who will strengthen me and protect me from the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

Direct my footsteps according to Your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me. (Psalm 119:133)

The hour has come for me to wake up from sleep, for my salvation is nearer now than when I first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. Therefore I will cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. (Romans 13:11–12)

My Relationship to Others

I will remember those in prison as though bound with them, and those who are mistreated, since I myself am also in the body. (Hebrews 13:3)

This is pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. (James 1:27)
