Daily Encouragement: Year 1, Day 83

The Attributes of God

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. (John 1:1–2)

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

The Works of God

God will impute righteousness to us who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered over to death because of our sins and was raised because of our justification. (Romans 4:24–25)

If the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did the grace of God and the gift that came by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many. And the gift of God is not like the result of the one man’s sin, for the judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. (Romans 5:15–16)

My Relationship to God

As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? (Psalm 42:1–2)

O God, You are my God; earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my body longs for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. (Psalm 63:1)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

I want to abound in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, in love, and in the grace of giving. (2 Corinthians 8:7)

I want to abound in love and faith toward the Lord Jesus and to all the saints. (Philemon 5)

My Relationship to Others

I will trust in You enough to honor You as holy in the sight of others. (Numbers 20:12)

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. (Proverbs 27:17)
