Daily Encouragement: Year 1, Day 86

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

Jesus is Your beloved Son in whom You are well pleased. (Matthew 3:17; Mark 1:11; Luke 3:22)

No one has ever seen God, but the only begotten God, who is in the bosom of the Father, has made Him known. (John 1:18)

The Works of God

God highly exalted Christ Jesus and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9–11)

Jesus Christ is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. (Revelation 1:7)

My Relationship to God

You are the light of the world. He who follows You will not walk in the darkness but will have the light of life. (John 8:12)

You are the true vine, and Your Father is the vinedresser. He cuts off every branch in You that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. I will abide in You, and You will abide in me. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can I, unless I abide in You. (John 15:1–2, 4)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

A simple man believes everything, but a prudent man considers his steps. (Proverbs 14:15)

A prudent man sees evil and hides himself, but the simple keep going and suffer for it. (Proverbs 22:3; 27:12)

My Relationship to Others

I will bless those who persecute me; I will bless and not curse. (Romans 12:14)

I will bear with others and forgive whatever complaints I have against them; I will forgive just as the Lord forgave me. (Colossians 3:13)
