Daily Prayer: Day 107

From Simple Prayers, Day 107

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of Your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

You have been just in all that has happened to me; You have acted faithfully, while I did wrong. (Nehemiah 9:33)

This is what the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, says:
“In repentance and rest is your salvation;
In quietness and trust is your strength.” (Isaiah 30:15)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

To the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all ages and now and forever. Amen. (Jude 25)

The Scriptures predicted that the Christ should suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. (Luke 24:46–47)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. My heart greatly rejoices, and I will give thanks to Him in song. (Psalm 28:7)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to Him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that run swiftly to evil, a false witness who breathes lies, and one who causes strife among brothers. (Proverbs 6:16–19)

I will be careful that no one entices me by riches; I will not let a large bribe turn me aside. (Job 36:18)

Lord, I thank You for the glory and majesty of Jesus Christ and for the gift of forgiveness through His death and resurrection. I thank You that You are my strength and my shield, and I ask that I would put aside those things that are displeasing to You.
