Daily Prayer: Day 111

From Simple Prayers, Day 111

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.

Be exalted, O Lord, in Your strength;
We will sing and praise Your power. (Psalm 21:13)

Save Your people and bless Your inheritance;
Be their shepherd and carry them forever. (Psalm 28:9)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Your merciful love is higher than the heavens, and Your truth reaches to the skies. (Psalm 108:4)

If by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one Man, Jesus Christ. Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one Man the many will be made righteous. (Romans 5:17–19)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

You have said, “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (Mark 11:24)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will not say when I am tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away and enticed by his own lust. Then, after lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. (James 1:13–15)

I will flee from sexual immorality.  All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but the immoral person sins against his own body. (1 Corinthians 6:18)

Lord, I thank You for Your merciful love and truth and for the perfect obedience of Your Son Jesus Christ. I thank You that You invite me to offer my requests to You, and I ask that I would flee from sexual immorality and turn to You in times of temptation.
