Daily Prayer: Day 122

From Simple Prayers, Day 122

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I praise You, Lord, that You are intimately acquainted with my ways and that You always love me and have my best interests at heart.

Like Job, may I be blameless and upright, fearing God and shunning evil. (Job 1:1)

May I be careful to lead a blameless life.
May I walk in the integrity of my heart in the midst of my house.
May I set no wicked thing before my eyes.
I hate the work of those who fall away;
May it not cling to me. (Psalm 101:2–3)

Take a moment to offer this day to the Lord and ask Him for the grace to grow in your knowledge and love for Him.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven. He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? (Psalm 18:30–31)

You save the humble but bring low those whose eyes are haughty. (Psalm 18:27)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

The greatest among us should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But Jesus came among us as the One who serves. (Luke 22:26–27)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will discipline my child while there is hope and not be a willing party to his death. (Proverbs 19:18)

The rod and reproof impart wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother. (Proverbs 29:15)

Lord, I thank You that You are a shield and a refuge and that You save the humble. I thank You that Jesus came as the One who served, and I ask that I would serve others by imparting Your truth to them.
