Daily Prayer: Day 125

From Simple Prayers, Day 125

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
From everlasting to everlasting.
Amen and Amen. (Psalm 41:13)

I will be still and know that You are God;
You will be exalted among the nations,
You will be exalted in the earth. (Psalm 46:10)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven above or on earth below; You keep Your covenant and mercy with Your servants who walk before You with all their heart. (1 Kings 8:23; 2 Chronicles 6:14)

You promised to restore the children of Israel and Judah, saying, “They shall be My people, and I will be their God. And I will give them one heart and one way, so that they will always fear Me for their own good and the good of their children after them.” (Jeremiah 32:38–39)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

As an obedient child, I will not conform myself to the former lusts I had when I lived in ignorance, but as He who called me is holy, so I will be holy in all my conduct, because it is written: “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:14–16)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word. It was good for me to be afflicted, so that I might learn Your statutes. (Psalm 119:67, 71)

I will submit myself to God and resist the devil, and he will flee from me. I will humble myself before the Lord, and He will exalt me. (James 4:7, 10)

Lord, I thank You for Your uniqueness and for the faithfulness of Your promises. I ask that I would walk in holiness and that I would submit myself to You and resist the devil.
