Daily Prayer: Day 134

From Simple Prayers, Day 134

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, I give thanks for Your greatness, Your goodness, and Your love, and I now draw near to enjoy Your presence.

John looked and heard the voice of many angels encircling the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and their number was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice,
“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
To receive power and riches and wisdom
And strength and honor and glory and blessing!” (Revelation 5:11–12)

The Lord Jesus Christ received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to Him from the Majestic Glory who said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” (2 Peter 1:17)

Take a moment to consider God’s awesome majesty and thank Him that He loves you and wants an intimate relationship with you.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

The Lord will guard the feet of His saints, but the wicked will be silenced in darkness. It is not by strength that one prevails; those who contend with the Lord will be shattered. He will thunder against them from heaven; the Lord will judge the ends of the earth. He will give strength to His king and exalt the horn of His anointed. (1 Samuel 2:9–10)

Just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom He wishes. (John 5:21)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

The God of hope will fill me with all joy and peace as I trust in Him, so that I may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, I will let my requests be known to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6–7)

I will love my enemies, do good to those who hate me, bless those who curse me, and pray for those who mistreat me. Just as I want others to do to me, I will do to them in the same way. (Luke 6:27–28, 31)

Lord, I thank You for guarding the feet of Your saints and for the gift of life in Your Son. I thank You for Your joy and peace, and I ask that I would not be anxious, but that I would do good to those who mistreat me.
