I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD
I praise You, Lord, that You are intimately acquainted with my ways and that You always love me and have my best interests at heart.
May I fear God and keep His commandments, for this applies to every person. (Ecclesiastes 12:13)
Give me understanding, and I will keep Your law
And observe it with all my heart.
Make me walk in the path of Your commands,
For there I find delight.
Incline my heart to Your testimonies
And not to selfish gain.
Turn my eyes away from worthless things,
And revive me in Your way. (Psalm 119:34–37)
Take a moment to offer this day to the Lord and ask Him for the grace to grow in your knowledge and love for Him.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
The Lord Jesus is the first and the last, and the Living One; He was dead, and behold He is alive forevermore and holds the keys of death and of Hades. (Revelation 1:17–18)
Jesus told His opponents, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. I told you, therefore, that you would die in your sins, for if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.” (John 8:23–24)
I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH
I desire that the God of peace Himself will sanctify me completely, and that my whole spirit, soul, and body will be preserved blameless at the coming of my Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls me is faithful, who also will do it. (1 Thessalonians 5:23–24)
MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD
I know that friendship with the world is enmity toward God. Anyone who wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. (James 4:4)
I will accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on his opinions. Who am I to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls, and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. (Romans 14:1, 4)
Lord, I thank You that Jesus is the first and the last and that He is the great I AM. I ask that I would be sanctified completely, and that I would not be a friend of the world, but a friend of those whom You love.
